Camp Koinonia

The mission of Camp Koinonia is to provide a spiritually enriching camp environment for family and personal renewal. Camp Koinonia sponsors several weeks of Family Camp during the summer. Through this we provide families from all over the United States a week-long Catholic retreat in the Finger Lakes region of NYS. We believe that families grow closer together when provided with spiritual guidance and faith-filled exercises in a beautiful camping environment, free from the distractions of the Internet as well as the demands of everyday life. Our goal is to draw people closer to Christ through strengthening their family bonds. Since 1983, we’ve served approximately 40 families each summer to help them de-stress and deepen their bonds with each other and with God, and we hope to continue our mission for generations to come. Our working Board of Directors is made up of 11 volunteers who work joyfully and tirelessly to serve our community. Our seasonal staff of six take care of our buildings and grounds as well as cook for our campers in the kitchen. We also provide stipends to our weekly program leaders including Spiritual and Program Directors. Our focus is on our youth and their families. By providing them a fun-filled, family-focused, camping atmosphere, they learn to relax and feel empowered in their faith and their place in their family and community of campers. Our Teen Staff bond with the younger campers and serve as role models for them. Our young adults serve as program leaders, also providing excellent role models. Our Priests and Spiritual Directors as well as our Holy Helpers provide guidance and spiritual sustenance for all ages.
