Genesee Figure Skating Club

Genesee Figure Skating Club provides opportunities for all ages to enjoy the artistry and athleticism of figure skating learned through group or individual lessons. As a member organization of the national governing body US Figure Skating, GFSC is the oldest figure skating club in the Rochester area. Founded in 1954 by F. Ritter Shumway, a Rochester businessman and philanthropist with a love of skating, GFSC has been the home for hundreds of skaters. We have skaters who have developed a lifelong love for skating through our programs, skaters who have gone on to compete at the highest levels, skaters who have shared their talents through performances across the country, and we have been proud to be the home club for several Special Olympians. GFSC has helped to develop skaters who compete locally to nationally. Our skaters share their love of skating with the community through two annual shows and participate annually in ROC Holiday Village. Anyone interested in learning to skate is welcome to participate in classes. The support of donors is incredibly valuable to helping GFSC to offer a wide range of programming opportunities open to all.
