Hope Hall School

Hope Hall has been providing hope to students who learn differently for more than 28 years. A private, non-sectarian, not-for-profit school for students in grades 3-12 who experience frustration in traditional school settings, Hope Hall provides a learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of students with learning challenges. Students at Hope Hall face barriers to learning such as neurological disorders and/or medical conditions, including Central Auditory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD, forms of autism, anxiety, or a low average IQ. Hope Hall serves approximately 140 students each year from 17 school districts and 3 counties in the Greater Rochester area. 100% of our students have significant learning challenges and 85% also face serious economic challenges. Despite these statistics, Hope Hall has a consistent 100% graduation rate. Hope Hall is excited to ROC the Day to Make a Difference. Nelson Mandela once said, “We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference.” At Hope Hall, we empower our students to believe in themselves and their ability to make a difference. But, we cannot do that on our own. Hope Hall receives no funding from school districts or government sources. ROC Star donors like you are vital to our ability to provide a quality education that makes a difference in the lives of young people who learn differently. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help our students overcome obstacles every day and get the education they need to achieve academic and personal success . Hope Hall’s unique educational program, called The Dolce Method for Learning Mastery©, was written and copyrighted by Sr. Diana Dolce, S.S.J. The Dolce Method teaches the full New York State curriculum in a small class setting (elementary – 12 students per class; high school – 15 students per class), at a slower pace, using multi-sensory teaching strategies. Specifically, the program: • Provides an inclusive, supportive, nurturing environment that develops a strong sense of belonging to a Community of Learners. • Focuses on moral and character development. • Develops professional students and strong community contributors. • Provides ALL students with Art, Music, American Sign Language, Career Development and Occupational Studies education including woodworking and financial management, and teaches core subjects • Offers Family and Support Services, and a Sports Program with a no-cut policy • Conducts a Summer Program Before coming to Hope Hall, our students were considered incapable of learning. They endured frustration and anger because their learning needs were not being met in a traditional classroom setting. The students, needless to say, felt hopeless. They felt no one understood their needs. Because of all of these feelings, their esteem and confidence were almost non-existent. Hope Hall changed all of that for our students.
