The Norman Howard School is an nonprofit, special education school serving students grades 5-12 with special learning needs. We provide a sense of belonging and a safe environment to learn and grow for 115 students from more than 30 district and 9 counties.
Here we celebrate and support what makes every student unique. A community that is welcoming, safe and small connects us more deeply than possible at larger, traditional schools. Students’ needs, strengths, and progress drive flexible and personalized coursework, while school-wide strategies afford a common language and foundation for academic and social success. Being included, supported, and understood promotes confidence, self- esteem, academic growth, and a sense of belonging for every student. Expertise and diverse learning experiences prepare nontraditional learners for success in school, college, career, and life.
